I think you're on the edge with that. Personally, I would only buy one that a manufacturer claims won't make it an AOW. That way you have potential cover.

Yup - Just last week the ATF boys swept the neighborhood for braces.

I SBR'd mine. The German side folder means I didn't mess with the stock tang so I can go with a regular fixed stock if I ever felt like it.

Yep, a surplus of parts from the cold war era and factories and tooling set up from the days of communism resulted in state sponsored AK prices. I'm glad I got in while the getting was good.

The whole DRACO line would then need a conventional trunnion - no stock tang on them from the factory.

I personally have too much to lose, so I don't take any chances no matter what the odds are of getting caught. If you're not worried about possible felonious consequences, then why would you even accept having one of these as a pistol? It seems to me that you'd go ahead and make it an SBR and full auto too.
