RDS atop my AR w/NF1-8, RDS choice and mount?

So, I was watching the video on the new Knights gun for Royal Marines issue and saw they put a RDS on top their Vortex 1-10.

If you were to choose a RDS ( I'm thinking a closed emitter ) , which RDS and which mount would you choose?

The 1X power on the NF is pretty quick and I dont see it critical, but might like to try it.

I would definitely go closed emitter. The ACRO P2 is a great option, or if you don't want to spend as much, i've run the Holosun 509T hard on my Beretta 1301 Tactical and it's been very reliable. I'm not sure what the best mounting options are though, i'll let others chime in on that.

Acro P2 on top of a Reptilia rof 90 is my go to on a1.93 G-mount. No complaints

As far as a mount Reptilia sort of has the market on top mounted dots on a LPVOs, but I've seen Precision reflex mounts on some local 3 gun rifles

I have a 509t on my ACOG for going on 2 years and it's been great, taken some hits while falling off of shooting benches on to cement and falling in the bed of my truck with no issues. I hear good things about the Steiner and ACRO closed dots as well

I am using ACRO P-1s mounted via the Spuhr ISMS on top of my Kahles K16i and Nightforce ATACR. My preference would be for P-2s, but I had the P-1s left over from when I was using them on my handguns.

yea that Acro is pricy, but my wife complains there is nothing to buy me for xmas, well well well. Kinda long time to wait for a guy but I might ask Santa

That Vortex 1-10 is at least FFP, right? I hope?

I know a 1-X is not as fast as a red dot, and batteries die, and a FFP reticle has issues being relevant at 1x and 10x- but a whole another 1x sight?

Is that for NODs use? I see the red dot is mounted at 12 o’clock, no cant or ‘weak’ eye set up?

Just seems that a 1x10 and a micro red-dot are both compromises meant to replace the other.

I’ve been super happy with the Badger C1 mounts in 1.7 height. The reptilla that the UK is using would have the dot a bit lower and maybe more natural to transition to but I really like my LPVO sitting at that 1.7 height. I’ve been using the Holosun 507 with ACSS Vulcan in this role, it seems to work very well in the same way that it was designed for a pistol.

It can work for passive aiming through NODs. The 1-10 is FFP and pretty good at 1x, but I don’t feel like I’m really hurting anything by having a 1x on top, I don’t think either are a compromise.
