LOL I did the same thing except I completed check out. I hemmed around for a day and did research and scoured the tests on the interwebs and YouGore channels. Let's hope it doesn't suck. But I am a sucker for a free tax stamp. It's how I ended up with my Razor 7.62.

I am interested in a suppressor to make (multiple) ARs quieter for the shooter and nearby folks. Noise at target is not a consideration. Size and weight are important considerations - I would trade effectiveness to gain a shorter/lighter suppressor over longer/heavier one.

Occasional mag dumps are possible but only one mag and occasional.

Can would be used on my "home defense" rifle, but not the primary motivation. Would use the can on 4+ ARs, so mount cost and availability is a factor.

If I have a can, I will build an 11.3" SBR AR using the barrel from an AR pistol I decommisioned.

Assuming all chambered in 5.56? Consider an OCL Polo K using the Rearden mounting system. Only reason I say K over full size is your call out about using it on an SBR. The full size is gassy on shorter barrels. And the K also hits your size and weight concerns. It's still an all steel duty can so it's not a featherweight. This is the budget option. But it does punch way above its weight class. If you want spend serious coin there are other more Gucci options like the Hux Flow 5.56 or the CAT that are lighter and are flow through. People will say Surefire but if you are going to use it on 4 to 5 different ARs the mounts are going to get uber expensive. Just some stuff to consider.

The interesting thing, according to the Pew Science testing of these on the mk18, is the cyclic rate is nearly identical between the two options.

So from a weapon function over gassing standpoint, they are the same.

What's measurably different between the two is the duration of the positive pressure impulse.

The Polo K is approximately 4.5ms and the full size Polo is 6ms, which is approximately 33% longer.

It's certainly possible this longer positive pressure duration is what contributes to increased gas blow back through the bore and more observed gassiness.

I did use both the K and full size on both a 10.3 (Colt) and 11.5 (G$) SBR. The cyclic rate did not appear to be impacted either way that I could notice. The difference in positive pressure impulse duration certainly makes sense as on both rifles the difference in gas to the face was noticeably different K to full size.

Interestingly enough I think the difference was more pronounced on the 10.3 compared to the 11.5. Not sure if the A5 set up in the 10.3 has anything to do with that IE increasing the positive pressure pulse duration via an increase in lock duration? The 11.5 is a Carbine set up. Buffer weights are almost identical (H3 vs A5H2 - roughly 5.3 oz) The spring on the carbine is a Sprinco white hot and the spring on the A5 was a Sprinco Green at the time I compared (I'm playing around with the G43 on it now.)

As a side not, my Polo 30 was included when I did the comparison as well. It's less gassy than the K but sounds the same to me as the K. I'll be interested in seeing the Pew Science data on that one as well. It's not living on a 5.56. I bought it for my X39 SBR (which btw I need a better barrel for. The KAK I put on it when I built it I had to drill out the port and its meh from an accuracy standpoint)

I would be looking at overbored, short, amd/or flow-through supressors... or a combo of those. Like 2 of the 3. All 3 may be too much.

Both good choices! Before you know it, you'll wonder why you waited so long, won't want to shoot without one, and will start giving stink eye to anyone at the range shooting unsuppressed.
