    FN's "HIPER" handgun

Don't think this is on the US market. Is it the 509 in a different wrapper?

Looks cool. Not much FN love here. I had an FN myself and loved it, I did end up selling it for another "something" but it was a great pistol. The above one looks decent & it's made in Belgium so it should be solid craftsmanship.

It's FNH's response to the 509 because of NIH syndrome, according to someone I spoke to that was very involved in the 509 program.

For a second, I thought I was seeing a non reciprocating slide with a Ruger / Nambu type bolt and really that would seem to be the solution to the mounted RDS optic wouldn't it? Something like a scaled down B&T TP9 with a traditional handgun profile?

Terrible advertising on their site, lots of flashy words but no substance.

Been in a cave? You just described all of Springfields and SIGs offerings for the last 10 years.

I don't think they really need to advertise it; it's my understanding that it will be a strictly institutional/agency offering anyway.

I actually think it looks pretty sharp. If FN chose to market it in the US, I think it would do reasonably well if the price wasn't outrageous.

I wonder if it has the same horrible trigger all of FN's other handguns have.

I shot some of their hammer guns and yeah, the triggers were so-so. I have never handled or shot a 509-type pistol but when I had my FNS (FN Striker) that actually had a decent trigger from the factory. Shot the hell out of it for a few years and moved it down the road for something I can't even remember now,LOL And yeah, I think the new one looks pretty decent and the price is "everything" in this category for sure!
