I sold my SR-15 to my buddy. In fact today I was thinking, how the hell would I ever replace the gas tube on this thing? For one, itís proprietary, secondly the URX4 and the SR-15 gas block are an absolute nightmare to get off and back on. In fact, Iím not even sure how to remove a gas tube on a current SR-15. Maybe itís easier than it looks but I doubt it.

I still think URX3 superior to URX4, I don't like the shim system on the 4!

Just to add to this discussion. I noticed RSR (one of the bigger wholesalers) no longer lists KAC rifles. They aren't simply out of stock, they don't list them at all.

The only items from that manufacturer are a trigger guard and two kinds of flip sights.

It's a shame because every Knights rifle I ever fired was kind of amazing and it really was going to be one of those "I've finally arrived, it's time to buy" rifles. In the past I've always been pragmatic and just bought TWO Colts every time I wanted a Knights rifle but one day I really do want a SR-15. But I also don't want to get into another situation where I've got a very expensive rifle and no product support. It's one thing with banned rifles like my HK 91 and 93, thankfully all those surplus G3 parts and accessories flooded the market years ago. But with the clone builders everything but magazines are gone for the most part.

I can't imagine buying a NEW rifle and having the same problem getting parts and accessories. I really thought Knights would be forever.

Maybe KAC creates a line of basic rifles like Geissele does with ALG.....

All I want from KAC, is for them to bring back their legacy handguards. Iím talking about the full float RAS rails (FF Carbine RAS, RAS MRE-B, and MK12), and the URX 3.1. Specifically to stick it to the vultures on Gunbroker, and the EE. I couldnít care less about their vertical grips and rail covers, all I want is another FF Carbine RAS, a URX3.1, and a MK12 rail. Oh, an SR25 URX 3 would also be pretty cool.

Hilariously there is a used SR-15 for sale right now for $4100. Last time I looked my FFL price for a new one was like $2,500.

Definitely expensive, maybe one of their SMEs could post the SR25 user guide that comes with rifle? (especially the mk11) There are things you get with KAC that do not exist with other manufacturers. What that value is for you is solely your call. The R&D they perform and share is on an entirely other level. The proprietary part is either the special sauce or the Achilles heel. I can tell you one of the SR25 clones I built hates being suppressed and has been a pain in the arse. I donít think this would have happened with the true SR25. The unsuppresed rifle has been great and probably has a 10,000-15,000rd lifespan if I donít abuse it. The M110/SR25/mk11 firing schedule suppressed shows how much harder cans are on rifles with .308. Itís a huge differentiation in service life. I would liken KACís documentation to what you get with Mercedes in terms of a maintenance schedule to keep everything at 100% That said, until I can buy parts I wonít buy another SR25. I donít collect anythingó it shoots or it leaves. Everything gets painted. I donít mag dump the shit out of stuff but I definitely find a cadence that is fairly quick. Itís not all from the bench under an awning for me anymore. Hard to hit that spray can button on their rifles but it is what it is. I definitely need the more critical spare parts to justify keeping or buyingóone is none.

operations parts has had all of the above in the last six months Hammeróexcept the mk12 rail. They sell out really fast, sometimes gone before I read the email notification on being instock and I check email very regularly throughout the day.
