Yep, a 13” barrel will work with a 12” rail, a 12.5” barrel not so much.

I can dig it for sure. One of the reasons I have been thinking of a 12.5 is to use a 12 inch Centurion C4 Quad on one of their 12.5 barrels and then use a Rearden to mount my Fat Cat. I think it would be close enough that I could still get a wrench on the mount. I want it close but not tucked. Which sounds like exactly what you are going for as well. I am going to test fit it on my 10.3 this weekend. It has a C4 carbine cut out and the sides are 9.5 inches I think? If it's too close on that then the 12/12.5 definitely wont cut it.

Perhaps a little blasphemy, but 13” 6720 barrel is now…

    Bootleg Enhanced Lightweight upper receiver
    Smoke Composites 12” handguard
    FCD 6315KM-S 5.56 flash hider

With the gas port already lean, I figured this would be a suppressor setup.

The Israeli Defense Forces re-barreled a number of M16A1 carbines with standard M16A1 barrels chopped at the rifle gas port, re-threaded and crowned, with a new gas port hole drilled at carbine length. These were called Menusar or Mekut'zrar ("Sawed off" or "Shorty") carbines.

    Especially that last one.

What is the length of barrels cut at a rifle gas port?
