Now that Gaston has passed on, what direction would you take Glock? I think there is a decent argument to be made that, no matter how successful they have been, the may have been a bit too conservative over the past few years. I totally understand, and the Gen 5 Glock is pretty much the Glock actually perfected. But that aside, if you were going to run it for 5 years, what would you do?
Here are my thoughts...
1. Enter the Carbine market. Even after 39 years of joking about it, they really should do it. Especially since they now have an actual carbine to sell. I would take a hard look at the MCX/HK416/433 etc and try to undercut them. Make sure to get some military and police contracts even if you have to give it away. They should steal every good idea and figure out how to make the guns for the lowest cost possible. I would not make an AR although I would make sure it took AR mags.
2. Gen 6 Glock needs to have an industry leading optics mount. Also try and revise the egos a bit more (but keep mag and holster backwards compatibility. Just look at the clone market and steal what you can.
3. Do they really have anything in the hellcat and Shield Plus category. Should they compete there?
What else?
