The last NRA person who did something seriously pro gun was Larry Craig (prevented the renewal of the Clinton ban before the susnet) and they got rid of him because he was a homo who trolled airport bathrooms.

The last time the NRA as an organization did anything effective was when they sold life memberships for $300-400 when it looked like the Sandy Hook ban might actually happen. It beefed up the numbers like nothing in the previous 10 years and was the only thing that swayed Congress in any real way. It was hard for them to NOT pass that ban after that psycho shot up a bunch of kindergarten and elementary school kids. But the beefed up NRA membership concerned them that they might get voted out of office similar to what happened when they supported the Clinton ban in 1994.

Not sure where this goes now but we could use another Cincinnati revolt.

Sadly, Wayne's sole focus ever since Cincinnati aside from looting the org for his own benefit has been ensuring there's never another one, starting with grooming and placing a board full of acolytes.

I find it humorous the libtards doing the NRA and the firearms community a favor.
What is weird is the decades of legit Pro 2A people pointing out the NRA backing anti 2A legislation and politicians(ie., not spending donated money as advertised) getting blown off while the second the media and a NY attorney general say that the NRA isn't spending money as advertised how many of the true believers jumped off the NRA wagon.

Time for someone to insert the obligatory "Well, bye" image from Tombstone.

I think I would miss a bad head cold more that I will miss WJP.

I read somewhere years ago that a big change in the structure of the NRA years ago made it so the board has no power to do anything.

I've not looked into the structure so I have no idea if its true but many big names abandoned ship years ago so it's possible.

I've been an endowment life member for a couple decades but haven't sent any money to them in years, due to the lack of seeing anything positive.
