    Question for suppressor nerds

So I picked up my Silencerco Velos yesterday. While looking it over I noticed something interesting. The first baffle hole is perfectly round. All of the rest of them are shaped like a keymod hole, albeit less pronounced. Any ideas?

These are called clipped baffles and are common for standard supressors. It disrupts the gas flow.

I thought that was a 3d printed design, so there may be more going on with your supressor.

Interesting. Now I’m going to have to read about clipped baffles. I’m kind of surprised that with all the years I’ve spent on this forum that this is the first I’ve heard of that. It’s my understanding as well that the core is 3d printed. Thanks.

It is also common for the blast (first) baffle to NOT be clipped.

On a can we built, we built it without the clips and then later just for shits and giggles, pulled them out and "clipped" them. It was noticeable quieter, we were very surprised. I mean very surprised and very noticeable.
