Former MLB prospect caught with dozens of ghost guns

Feds raided this guy's home and found a bunch of unmarked lowers, SBR's, a couple CNC machines. My first thought was I wonder what he did to attract federal attention to himself. Another article was saying he was maybe selling them. They must have caught wind of that. As far as I know, it's still legal to make a "ghost gun" purely for your own use, isn't it? As long as it doesn't violate the NFA.

Several illegal SBR's with 9 and 1/4" barrels. Kind of an odd length. 300 BLK?

    Maybe it is?......
    • 1 (one) fully assembled AR-15 style rifle with a barrel measuring approximately 9 ¼ inches, with an obliterated serial number

    • 1 (one) AR-15 style lower receiver with an obliterated serial number

Machamer is charged with possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, receiving or possessing an NFA Firearm not registered to the possessor in the NFRTR, and manufacturing a firearm in violation of NFA.
