Leadership at Tennessee Highway Patrol was very critical of permitlesss carry, predicting the standard stuff like endangering cops at traffic stops and shootings due to lack of training... yada yada. However, they did dream up one prediction of doom that I had not heard before-- Outlaw gangs from neighboring states without permitless carry would travel to Tennessee to commit crimes. uh huh. As ridiculous as it was then, such a claim is even more glaringly absurd today (green = permitless carry).

Permitless carry in Tennessee became effective 2021. I haven't seen any statistics but from my viewpoint things are fine. For the decades I've lived here shootings have generally been isolated to the same areas and neighborhoods.... yawn.

Speaking of standard stuff, Sheriff Leon Lott worked the wild wild west in.

Sounds a bit like predictions of drunken brawl shootouts when Tennessee passed Guns in Bars. There were some old timers at the club who simply couldn't wrap their head around the idea of not being prohibited by government from carrying a gun where alcohol is served. Liberty is scary thing to a lot of folks. 15 years later... much to the disbelief of doomsayers, the good people of Tennessee are doing just fine.

When bad people, doing bad things to good people, end up getting holes their bodies where they’re not supposed to be, it tends to make those bad people reconsider their life’s goals of being a gangsta.

This isn’t rocket science people. This is fact.

Same old "Sky Is Falling" blood-in-the-streets bullshit they shoveled back when FL became the second Shall Issue state in '86. (We in WA have had it since '61, though I'm not sure that's gonna last much longer with the walking asscancer that make up our Legislature.)

Not all LEO’s are anti-2A. I transferred to a more conservative area of the state back in 1990 for a better quality of life for my family. Shall-Issue state, even though I’ve always had a CPL (although not required for LE) I’ve never cited a law-abiding citizen for not having a CPL. I strongly support Constitutional Carry. (When will people learn that criminals don’t obey any laws?)

Not all, but the opposition isn't new or unique to SC. While most of it here in KY was in areas with large cities , there were plenty of rural/low population areas where any decriminalization was opposed.

Be curious how it goes after seeing news about individual cops in Texas(iirc) going after open carriers when that was decriminalized as well as Florida le going after open carry fisherman/hunters acting 100% according to law.

This right here, when someone tells me they are armed, I tell them, "You keep yours in your holster, and I'll keep mine in my holster."

I’d never break the law, but I did forget to renew my CCW for like half a year. I definitely wasn’t concealing or carrying a fullsize GP 100 .357 with bigass Hogue grip during that time, no sir. But if I were, I’d be pretty confident that no one cares and no one is asking for a permit.
