Colt gone???? You can buy a Colt AR15A4, 6920, 6920-EPR, 6960 and M5 all day long. Colt overseas??? If you have some news about colt being gone then please share it. I haven’t seen anything confirming what you are claiming.. 🫵🏼🤔

Colt was purchased by CZ in 2021 but they haven't closed up shop. Part of the reason for the purchase is to expand CZs production beyond "its main factory in the Czech Republic and allow it to compete in U.S. military contracts because it will fulfil "Buy America" regulations requiring U.S. production."

Looking at Bushmaster's new A2's, do the handguards appear to be the "fat" variety?

Not based on that picture, they appear to be the standard mil-spec type as far as their size. However, they still might be cheap knock offs, as most commercial brand A2 handguards usually are.

The A2 grip on the rifle pictured is the absolute worst of the worst cheap LPK A2 grips that are available, so I'm guessing the rest of the furniture is crap too.

Currently, I believe Colt and possibly H&R is the only source of correct mil-spec A2 handguards. Windham Weaponry used to carry them as well, but I believe that might not be the case anymore.
