The Epiphone line has been pretty good lately. I grabbed a Jared James Nichols sig model that is a great guitar for the price.

I bought a 60's a Epiphone Les Paul because I loved the neck.
I replaced everything with spec or better parts, became expensive with all of the aftermarket hardware and pick-up's.

I just went to the Gibson Web-site and you can buy the double neck plain jane for 8K, which is rather cheap in my opinion.

I can't justify that much on a guitar that I don't use to make money. I'd feel like it belonged in the hands of someone more accomplished.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

The sound and look of the Gibson black and white double neck electric guitar played by Don Felder during the intro to Hotel California is distinctive and melodic. I've always associated that guitar and that song.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.

I wish you could rent a nice double neck for a week to see if you could hack it. And to Sam's point, then you'd have to learn Eagles and Zeplin tunes like crazy.

The interesting thing with the '60s inspired by gibson Epiphone models is that the pots, bridge, tuners, etc are all identical to what regular Gibsons get.

The difference would be the Epiphone pro bucker copies versus real Gibson humbuckers.

I traded mine for a Gibson LP studio, which I enjoy. But I'm not that convinced that the components are better. There's an interesting YouTube video where Rhett what'shisname compared an original '60s Les Paul to a current '60s custom shop Les Paul to a current 60s Epiphone.

My experience has been there's more variance in the individual guitars in each of those lines/vintages than the differences between the different models.

My Epi was set up okay, but might not have been optimal. Where my gibson studio was plecked from the factory. That can make a big difference in playability.

On the double neck, as cool as they are I believe I saw or read something that even Jimmy Page thinks the double neck SG is too heavy so accordingly it's not that much fun to play. But made sense at the time to avoid guitar swaps in the middle of songs live. Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick says the same of his multi-neck guitars.

Baxter the Casino guitar guy had some interesting comments on the new release and also said the word is that there will be releases running the full line down to Epiphone.
