At Lewis we had a “group” doing a night jump and someone’s weapon got ripped off their rig, never found.
Hell, when I got stationed at Polk some Navy type dudes decided to “leave” all their ammo they didn’t use in a ditch and redeploy back home. Nothing happened except we blew it all up.
Was probably 20 years ago but I remember Japanese defense forces spending days searching fields because several rounds of LIVE 7.62 fell out of a helo.
