Dutch officer speaks about "the gun"

A 17-minute speech from a senior Dutch officer about his choice of careers and the military. The most interesting part is when a soldier walks on stage and hands him a carbine. Not sure that would go over well with civilian audiences here.

He says the governments of constitutional nations should have guns / militaries and justifies using those forces to spread democracy and constitutional governments to places that don't have it.

He's a war-mongering globalist. He also says only the State has the right to use violence.

    **** that shit-head commie!

The story about his father really hits home the reason to have someone become proficient with a gun before needing it.

The state monopoly part was wildly misguided as well.

Its exactly what I would expect from the dutch - I work with them closely. They dislike Germans, but act the same, state/ruler/boss knows best, "STFU and follow orders." Dude is a tool for the machine, just like all the rest.

That is pretty old video, but I thought about it when I saw a recent video of a woman talking about what she 'WANTS' and one of the wants was for firearms to be in the hands of the govt only. I can't think of anything more dangerous or scary than a world where only the govt has guns.

The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

I will never understand any country that actually fought the nazis but it still willing to disarm it's citizens. Imagine if there had been other people on that riverbank with his father, with their own guns that they knew would perform to certain expectations.

But like much of Europe, even having the nazis march in and occupy your country still won't teach you the most important things about freedom.

Europe has been a battlefield for 1000 years. The Nazis were a short-lived (if rather effective) blip.

Probably ingrained to "roll over and take it" by this point, since nothing lasts forever.

The reality is that you are far more likely to be killed by your own govt than by a foreign one. That is why gun control happens. A govt is far more likely to be over thrown- especially below the national figurehead leaders- by a civil force than by a foreign force.

To paraphrase Ali, Putin never called me a white supremacist terrorist...

More to the point, if we ever DID get invaded, you can expect this government to hand out guns liberally so that "we" can defend "them."

This young lady is smarter than 1/2 our population and most of our politicians when it comes to “gun control”. She destroys any argument on why only the government should have guns.
