    Colt D frame

Did Colt ever make either a bobbed hammer or hammerless snub nose? Something that would be similar to a SW442/642?

They produced a factory Hammer Shroud variant, I don’t believe they offered a “hammerless”/mod. 42 type or “Bobbed” hammer version.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

A D frame Colt is larger than a Smiff J frame and were sixshooters in the K frame class, so J frame comparisons are out. Colt did offer hammer shrouds for them, and I've seen several Detective Specials with them. The hammers can be bobbed if desired without and drama. There was also an alloy framed "Agent", but they seem to be pretty rare at this point.
