    I like the plain edge. And I love my Commander.

    Follow Emerson's advise on how to sharpen it with cardboard/stock. It gets it damn sharp, quickly.

    For my purposes I like the combo edge on my Commander. Cuts through hay twine like butter, without taking a toll on my plain edge. For my purposes it is the best choice. Really the edge needed is dictated by the use. There are times when I use a plain edge (peeling apples), combo (EDC), of full serrated (peeling people). It just depends on what environment I am in. For the real knife junkie, buy one of each and carry them both......lol
