Daniel Defense Barrel & Upper Receivers

I'm seriously considering buying a DD 16" midlength with DD receiver. I've read plenty of threads and reviews all raving about DD rails, but I have found very little information on their barrels or upper receivers. Does anyone have experience with these? Anything you could tell me, good or bad? I'm looking for a high quality 16" midlength AR. Thanks in advance!

Ask GotM4, I know that he has delt with them to some extent, how much I don't know.

I've heard nothing but good about the DD barrel and upper. If I could find one in 14.5" configuration with a perm flash hider/suppressor I'd be hard pressed to say "not today."

I have the Daniel Defense SPR Complete Upper 16" barrel with 12" Lite Rail, .223Wylde chamber and it is an excellent upper! The taper of the Lothar Walther barrel makes for a great balance on the rifle and it is ACCURATE! The bolt is excellent and they are handmatched, I couldn't be happier with mine. I put in on an LMT 2 Stage match lower. It is very ACCURATE!

Did I mention that it is ACCURATE!
It will consistently produce sub HALF MOA groups with Federal Gold Medal Match 77gr SMK, using a 4power scope at 100yards. With several groups less the 0.4MOA!!

Even my wife (who hadn't shot a scope rifle before) was able to squeeze sub MOA 5 shot groups with boring regularity, with only a 4power scope.

    Cameron,

Are you from New Zealand? I thought you guys had draconian gun laws like Australia.

I am from New Zealand, but I now split my time between a holiday home in New Zealand and my residence here is the US, I accidentally married a Yank!

That being said NZ does not have gun laws like Australia, we can still own semi auto military pattern rifles. DON'T CONFUSE NEW ZEALANDERS AND AUSTRALIANS!!

Here are some shots from a recent match in New Zealand.

this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with new zealand, but doesn't anyone else just get disgusted when they see less restrictive gun laws in other countries, ESPECIALLY developed socialized countries?

all i can do is throw my hands up when i see this.. America should be THE least restrictive gun laws in the WORLD, and i don't know how big-heads can keep a straight face when they claim we're still THE land of the free.

very nice rifle, by the way- my wallet ran and locked itself in the bathroom as those pics rolled up

i assume you purchased in the states?
