I guess I should have asked this before I ordered one. Has anyone tried this scope? I read all I could fine on it and it appears to be some thing that old eyes can work with.

I don't think you will find out much about it right now since I don't think the sight is even out yet. I've contacted burris(no response yet) and more recently SWFA in an attempt to learn more about it. It's something like $200 on SWFA's website so I would guess that it is imported. Considering burris is selling it though, it might be decent enough for a plinker or some other low impact use. I'm interested in learning more about these as well since I wanted a compact acog, but having trouble justifying the cost. Now before I get jumped on for that, I know the acog will be superior in every way and if I can swing it I might still get one. However for the intended use of the rifle it's going on, this new burris scope might be the ticket.
Only Burris' top of the line stuff is made in the States. All of their other stuff is made in the Phillipines, but even their imported stuff appears to be good to go.
Looks interesting. I might try one if they get good reviews.

Eww. Rumor has it this is a 3X red dot and not an illuminated scope.

I just got an E- mail from SWFA concerning my Burris Ar 332 order. They are on back order and will ship as soon as they arrive.
Perhaps more interesting is the AR-332 prismatic 3x sight. It is kinda a mix of Trijicon ACOG and Leupold prismatic: there is magnification, but the reticle is illuminated by the battery, instead of fiber optics. If your battery dies you still have a pretty thick and useable black reticle. The reticle is dominated by an outer circle that is 1 mil thick. Inside it there is a center dot 1 mil in diameter and some holdover marks. The illumination is either red or green depending on which direction you turn the knob in (the green/red thing is kinda cheesy to me, I would prefer red with more settings from low to high). This is an interesting little sight and should be quite affordable. I would like to wring it out in low light some time. It has a built-in carry handle mount a la ACOG which is definitely a minus as far as I am concerned. That means that there is no way to mount it low in case your rifle is not an AR.
Thanks for the info. It has put some of my concerns to rest. I will agree that I have never fully understood why the imported scopes(and red dots) sport both red and green illumination. I played with one on a bushnell red dot(the one that looks like an acog) and didn't see the advantage to a green reticle. I would rather have a more varried illumination settings in red like you.
I'm sure Burris will sell a metric. ass load of these things. I might pull the trigger on one myself if I can get a few questions answered first;
1). Eye relief?
2). Battery life?
3). How effective is the illumination?
4). Might current production ACOG mounts from LaRue or ADM be utilised for this new Burris?
