I'm reminded of the old saying, it's not funny if you have to explain it...

I was refering to the fact that a very low percentage of American's have served in the military, therefore they haven't had the experience of the water buff.
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President... - Theodore Roosevelt, Lincoln and Free Speech, Metropolitan Magazine, Volume 47, Number 6, May 1918.

Every Communist must grasp the truth. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party Mao Zedong, 6 November, 1938 - speech to the Communist Patry of China's sixth Central Committee

Not just military personnel, if you were in the Boy Scouts and attended a large Camporee, you probably got your water from a water buffalo.

MURDER ON THE OREGON TRAIL- Lieutenant Jones flashes his badge at the blues holding the perimeter and ducks under the yellow "CRIME SCENE" tape. His partner Detective Smitty was the first to arrive. Smitty stands, hands shoved deep in his pockets, hat tilted back as he works the ever present matchstick to the corner of his mouth. The detective's attention is riveted on the coroner as he works. Jones walks over, waving a hand at the body laying in the grass. "What happened, Smitty?"

Smitty bounces on his heels, shaking his head. "That's real a tragic story, Jonesy. Near as we can tell, the dead guy, this uh..." He frowns, pulls out a worn note pad and squints at the indecipherable scribblings. "...Hugh. This Hugh posts a meme making fun of that old computer game- Oregon Trail." Smitty rolls the match around his mouth and points it at a cuffed figure stuffed in the back of a patrol car. "It just so happens that Terry over there took a real offense, as it was his favorite thing to play. Terry told Hugh to take it down and apologize. Our boy Hugh just scoffs. Says anyone who plays such a stupid game is a loser. Enraged by the lack of respect from Hugh, Terry knocks the crap out of him. Kills him."

Smitty sighs. "Then the cause of death is-"

"Hugh died of dissin' Terry. "
