So things are still better in Iowa than Florida, however there is a different kind of stupid in Iowa that revolves around non critical thinking. People read on twitter or whatever about the 30 day travel ban and got it in their heads that places like Wal Mart will not be stocked for a MONTH.

They literally bought every roll of toilet paper. Canned goods, bottled water (thank god my taps work perfectly well and provide better tasting water), batteries?!? and all manner of survival stuff like "The Day after Tomorrow" will be here this weekend. It's a shame Wal Mart stopped selling ammo because LOTS of people asking for ammo.

I only went in their to get some TP and a bunch of Lipton Ice Teas. Thankfully I have an emergency reserve of TP at home. I guess I'll restrock when the truck rolls in Saturday, this Saturday. Trying to resist the urge to pass unreliable information that "the government" is going to ration energy to emergency and security facilities and local municipalities will begin to cycle electricity on and off as needed. You guys all have generators right? No? Better pop over to Menards and grab one before they are all gone.
