We got WBIR in south central KY too and I always enjoyed watching his Heartland Series when I was a kid.

Ever go to the Appalachian History Museum?

Fienna stirred my memory. Not a side splitter, but will likely make most smile.

This show was a bit before my time, but growing up I heard his name from a lot of adults. I doubt any made the 5 to 6 hour (or more at the time) round trip to buy groceries off of him but they apparently enjoyed his variety show.

There was(and likely still is) a section dedicated to him at the Appalachian History Museum where I first learned that in addition to being on TV he had the grocery store and had been elected to positions in Knoxville city government including mayor. What stuck with me the most was that he loved hunting and hunting dogs and the museum had a painting he had had done of his dogs with a little special section on the painting titled something like "Dogs that saved Cas's life."

I have been there several times. My wife was up that way a few weeks ago and stopped in. They sell copies of The Heartland series so she bought a couple of seasons.
