Not exactly in your range but I use a Aimpoint T-1 Micro. The big draw to me is the battery life. Unlike the Eotech I sold I never have to turn the Aimpoint off. Like 7 year battery life on the setting I use. You can grab it and not worry.

Keep your eye open for a used Aimpoint ML2 or ML3 in the for sale section. They show up pretty regularly and can be had at a good price.

+1 for what Joe R.said, about a year ago there was a glut of used Aimpoint M2's from folks upgrading to the M4 and T/H1.

Exceptional battery life and big 4 MOA dot make it a good solid choice since it'll be stored more than shot and if used most likely at short range.

You can hunt around and get a decent M2 with QRP mount for less than $350.

    Good luck!

Check with Grant at G&R Tactical and see if he still has the Aimpoint C3 with a Larue or ADM mount.

I bought this setup from him last year and have been very pleased so far.

I think I paid in the $450 range for the package. I have the 2 MOA version plus the long battery life .....just no night vision.....not neccesary for my needs.

Is the comp c a good version of the aimpoint. Do they make a mount that sits a little lower. The aimpoints i see always sits high from the top of the rifle.

IMHO the comp c 3 is a very good value.

Many other more experienced folks here have said it is a good optic....2 things to keep in mind...it is only waterproof to 15 feet and offers no night vision compatibility....only you can decide if thats important to you.

The comp c 3 does offer a very long battery life - 50,000 hours at setting 7 of 10.

As far as mounts go , most are made so the optic will either absolute co-witnesses or 1/3 lower co-witness. I prefer the 1/3 lower co-witness. This means the iron sights are visible in the bottom third of the optic when looking through it. Absolute co-witness means the irons and dot are inline with each other when looking through the optic. If you search out co-witness others have explained this better then I have.
