11-87 Police Vs FN SLP Vs 930 SPX Vs 1100

So I have decided that my next gun purchase will be a semi automatic shotgun. I have been doing some research and I am considering the following:

I wish that I could include a Benelli on this list, but it is out of my budget. So, out of these 4 guns, who has an opinion? Really looking for any negative comments about these guns. It seems like every gun review I read only contains positive information.

Buddy of mine picked up the 930 SPX some months back...and I'll be damned if it isn't 98% identical to the SLP (based on my limited handling of the SLP). The Mossberg shoots great with anything loaded in it. My *only* complaint was the lack of sling mount on it. What gives? With very minimal modification to an 870 plate from Wilson Combat, we got it to work. Kinda lame though that there's nothing offered from the factory.

Which shotgun you decide on really depends on how heavily you will use it. The 11-87 is the most durable of the bunch with a steel receiver. The other models use an aluminum receiver. Several years ago LA SWAT was complaining that some of their Benellis were going out of commission during day to day training and entries. When moving quickly through a doorway, sometimes the stock or barrel hits against the frame which was bending receivers making the shotgun inoperable. They also experienced bending receivers during quick vehicle exits and other agressive movements that they expected would not damage their equipment. Most of the agency now only uses Remington 870s. Miami SWAT had very similar complaints about their Benellis bending receivers.

I like the FN SLP shotgun, which is a copied Winchester design. However, I wish that it had a steel receiver.

My preference is for a hard use shotgun, so I stick with the Remington 870 and 11-87. I like the 870 for its reliable, workhorse operaton.....but the 11-87 gives you a measurable combat advantage provided that you are proficient with it and use proper ammunition. In addition, a semiauto shotgun gives you the ability to operate it with only one arm should your other arm be injured.

I have a FN SLP and think it's a fantastic Semi SG. It's very fast shooting handels and feel great and I think it one good looking shotty also. I also got mine a few years at a very nice price.

But I'm sure any of them will treat you well.
