    Is This For Real?

A used and partially damaged Colt box, bid up to $27, plus $11 shipping, with over 4 days left to go. An empty, damaged box. $38 and counting.

    What am I missing here?

Wow...that is amazing. I have some used boxes at the house. I guess I should get to listing them on ebay. Think of all the money I could be making from these idiots....

Original boxs always make your gun worth more.

Is that an actual Colt box or is it subcontracted?

Everytime I ever put up a for sale ad for any Arsenal, Inc. AK, the single most asked question from prospective buyers was "do you have the original box?"

Not "how does it run", "how accurate is it" or anything like that - some guys are all hung up on pieces of cardboard.

Even the original box idea is useless here, as the box is marked Colt and has the previous weapons serial number on the side.

One of the most bizarre listings I have ever seen there. I wouldn't pay $0.02 for the thing.

Ive never understood the concern about having a box either

Mine get thrown away pretty quick, come to think of it the ONLY box I have is the hard case my Bushmaster came in!

People fancy themselves "firearms collectors". They know that if they hold that COLT carbine and COLT box for 20 years, it will be worth $10,000 because it has the box, accessories and mint carbine.

There is some truth to it, but only if you hold it for 20+ years, and keep it perfect -- or it was rare to begin with.

Most of the real collectors kept their boxes to begin with though, as they are likely in the safe with the gun.
