It needs a new coating.
Parkerizing was the coating of choice back a while .
Now there is some new stuff but the cost is more than what I paid FOR THE SHOTGUN .

Birdsong coatings are IMHO the best of the polymer type coatings. If it doesn't have to be black, Robar NP3 is a plated finish that is MUCH more durable than any polymer coating. The color is kind of a lead grey.
