I am looking to get a new mount for my aimpoint and was wondering what would be a good one to get. It is just used for home defense and maybe some plinking.

Have you read either of these threads or done a search of "Aimpoint" and "mount" in the Optics & Mounts section?
No i am new to forums and still trying to find my way around. That thread only talks about optics not mounts.

ADM and Larue are both very good.
I like the cantilever models.
BOBRO looks nice but i havent used one.
The mount i have now sits low to the top of the reciever and i can see almost over half of my front site but that doesnt bother me, just wondering if that would hurt anything if i can see half my front site.
When optics need mounts on an AR, I think Larue.
For the price I think ADM is the best bet.

I'm using a Larue LT-150 on an Aimpoint M2. If you are planning on adding a magnifier, go with the LT-129.
That's called "co-witnessing" and is considered to be a a good thing for most shooters. In the unlikely event your Aimpoint dies, you can still see your iron sights through the optic without having to remove it.
And I suggest Larue mounts. Solid, combat proven, returns to zero if removed/remounted, no-BS warranty, best customer service in the industry.
