    Why M4Carbine.net?

The purpose of M4Carbine.net is to provide a forum to share professional and technical information with the shooting community. The forum is open to military, law enforcement, and recreational shooters. What makes M4Carbine.net the best site of its kind on the internet? Here are just some of the reasons:

    • Comments that are intentional personal attacks against other members are not tolerated. Debate is welcome and encouraged, but personal attacks, and name calling, serve no purpose in the exchange and debate of good information. The staff and moderators strive to ensure an environment that is respectful to new shooters and seasoned veterans.

    • Information regarding illegal modifications to firearms, threats against individuals or government entities, images or links to pornography are not tolerated. Posting someone's personal contact information (including home phone numbers, addresses, and unpublished email addresses) is dealt with harshly.

    • M4C designates certain members as Industry Professional or Subject Matter Expert.

SME's are personnel who serve or have served in certain SOF units, and through their experiences have exceptional insight into tactics, weapons and their employment.

Industry Professionals are personnel who work in the firearms industry, serve in some elements of the military or .gov as armed professionals. They have above average knowledge of information as it pertains to their field(s).

    • Internet forums have a large global audience and unsubstantiated or ill-informed comments will affect the livelihoods of a lot of hard working people in the industry. If you have an issue with a manufacturer or dealer that you would like to resolve, we ask that your first contact them to resolve it.

    • If you are an industry manufacturer/dealer or employed by one you must disclose this relationship through your screen name or signature line. Anonymous industry trolling is not allowed.

    • Posting comments with the purpose to start conflicts with members, libel persons or groups, or to disrupt the overall running of the forum is not allowed.

    • It is free to participate in the Equipment Exchange after 30 productive posts.

    • Private forums for LEO's, SME's and IP's exist for the open exchange of ideas within these specialized groups.

    • Warnings are formalized through an automated system which keeps moderation objective.

    • ALL of the staff and moderators regularly train with some of the most highly regarded instructors in the world. They are a diverse cross section of current and former military personnel, LEO's, private military contractors and defense-minded civilians and competitive shooters.

Hehehe - I love the group photo. There's a rogue's gallery for you!

It would be fascinating to tally up the centuries of experience represented in that picture.

There are some real deal shooters in there. Some of the most talented gun slingers I have come across are in that photo.

Hrm.. I'd say that the quality of information is very high compared to other sites. There's less of a 'only my opinion matters you stupid plebe' attitude in that you can ask a question, get high quality answers (instead of ridicule) and if you ask questions about those answers, people will actually respond instead of react.

So far I've learned a lot from reading and look forward to learning more.
