I have one on an AK in a Irondot from Larue. I really like it, but I dont like that it is not waterproof. I would wait for the Fastfire ll or a Trijicon RMR. I really want to try the RMR.

    Thanks,

For the money, I am probably going to order one for my Spikes 22 gun. I don't expect Aimpoint ruggedness but a 3x RDO for under 300 would feel at home on the 22 and I don't expect it to replace my LT/T-1 and LT/ML3 combo anytime soon.

I was checking one out here in Houston and it looked like it would hold up for my purposes, mainly on my AK's and on my AR.

I'm not so sure about using it on my FAL or CETME at this point, but time and testing will tell.

It looked rugged enough for $300, though an Aimpoint is probably not shaking in it's boots!

Nope haven't changed the batts yet and haven't really used it that much. It does go to sleep with the cover on and it has a on off switch but I MUCH like probably everyone an optic tht you can change the batts on with the optic still mounted,

When is this due on the market?

I noticed that OpticsPlanet upped the price on the FastFire not too long ago.

    Fast Fire

I've had good luck so far with the Burris Fast Fire. Very light, seems as durable[ or more so] than other sights of this type, and they have held zero for me without any problems. The biggest downside I see so far is that you have to take the sight off the mount to change batteries, and will need to at least confirm zero, if not re-zero after that. I don't know......I haven't had to change batt's yet. The sight has a on/off switch on the side, and has a form fitting cover, that when placed on the sight[ if its "on"] puts the sight in sleep mode.

My understanding from the BURRIS guys at the shot show is that the FF2 is basically the same sight, with a waterproof seal around the body of the sight. I have the older version, and use them for various non critical applications......plinking guns, inside HD carbines, and back up to the backup sights on AR's . II may get a FF2 down the road, but so far the originals are working fine for me. I think they are very useful, very lightweight, easy to use sights. YMMV
