Please tell your brother how much we all appreciate his work that he is doing over there as well as the steady hand he is bringing to something he makes look so much easier then it is.

I still cant believe he made that shot with the camera right there.

Congrats to him on the award and I hope he makes it home safe and sound.

That's the same reporter who later turned in my brother's right hand man (assistant sniper team leader) for shooting that insurgent in the mosque in Fallujah. They attempted to court martial him and of course he was exonerated. Dude had lost his best friend the day before to another insurgent "playing possum," taken a 5.56 friendly fire ricochet to the face, and was running on no sleep for the past 3 days and heavy physical exertion. He is also an LRI instructor and one of my best friends

Detective D, he's home now and ranching and running his long range shooting school which is based off of his experiences as a Marine Scout Sniper with two combat tours.

I can only echo the previous posters' remarks. Please pass on my thanks and gratitude for his combat service, and courage under fire.

I can think very few remarks that offer higher praise, than "He saved the lives of his fellow Marines."

Coolness under the fire - the hallmark of a STA Marine.

The Air Force has a bad habit of giving the Bronze Star without a "V" in leu of an MSM for folks E-7/8 and above for their service in a combat zone. I worked for an E-8 that "earned" one while depoyed to Qatar.

    Ammotech,

If they are in a combat zone, then a Bronze Star without "V" device would be appropriate as it is the equivalent of the MSM. Since the MSM cannot be awarded for meritorious service or achievement in a combat zone. The BSM's I saw awarded were IMHO not deserved and should have been NAVCOM's or equivalent. I know that one of the awards was a political thing because she was a female. Many of the NAVCOM's I saw weren't deserved either and I made that fact known. That was like taking a shit in the punch bowl at the prom needless to say. One day I will make the pics public that I took of the weapons that were assigned to certain crews and personnel. I am fairly confident no one has seen shit like this before.
