yes. If you don't find that Magpul DVD informative, at least it will be 10000X better than most of the bullshit you'll find on network TV.
I've watched at least 4 times and see more viewings in the future.
Kinda like Ronin and Heat, can't watch it enough.![]()
Worthwhile? Yes.
A substitute for actual instruction with a guy watching you for errors? No.
I think the training videos (if they are good, like Magpul's) are a very good visual aid. I've always felt that if you watch the best shooters or athletes and try to mimmick their movements then you will be able to have a better set of fundamentals. This sounds weird, I don't mean that if you watch Haley and Costa that you will all of the sudden shoot like them or acquire their skill sets. I just mean that I find it better to watch and learn from the best. In this regard I think that watching the best shooters is beneficial and trying to mimmick their movements and skills with tons of practice will help you become a better shooter in the end.

I've always viewed it in a bit of an analogy. Can you learn martial arts (TKD, Kung Fu, Karate, etc.) by watching videos? Most definitely not. But if you take martial arts classes it can really help you remember forgotten steps to your forms and reinforce your training, not supplement it. If you try to teach yourself karate from videos and then take a class odds are you will have a lot of bad habits you will need to unlearn and would have been further ahead just to take the class first and ask your instructor what would be a beneficial training aid for your time away from class.
Hoffman,
I agree with you totally on that. Bad habits can be formed. But I also think that watching people do things the right way over and over that your brain will remember the right way something should look when you do your training. Vids are no substitute for actual training.
