    Building an upper

    These are my components:

    CMMG lightweight barrel
    YHM free-float rail
    YHM low-profile gas block
BCM upper w/ dust cover and forward assist assembled

Is assembling it a matter of putting the barrel in the receiver, tightening the barrel nut, installing the gas tube in the gas block? Or am I oversimplfying this?

Nope - looks like you're right on target; proper moly on the barrel nut, proper torque on the barrel nut - critical alignment of the gas tube through the upper -there is a pin/drill bit that helps to make sure the barrel nut is correctly positioned - and you should be good to go

Coupla other threads on the importance of using the proper moly on the barrel nut and proper torquing.

Hope others will comment as well

    Enjoy

Your probability of success shoots way up if you use a receiver vise block.
