ANYONE EVER USE THE AIMPOINT COMPC3

I just bought the AIMPOINT COMPC3 and love it. it is a great red dot site that works great and is the same as the m1 m2 but is good to 15 ft of water but i am not planning on puting my rifle under water unless i fall in a lake or something AIMPOINT RED DOTS are the best in my opinion. Also a 50,000 hr batterey life.

What dot size did you get? I recently got a M3 with a 2 moa dot and I love it. Still don't know if I like it as much as the EoTech, but I got it for my SHTF rifle and for the battery life of some 8 years or so.

I got the 2 moa and love it. I tried the eotech and just didnt like the retical it covered to much of the target. the AIMPOINT dot pinpoints the exact point of impact and i liked that over the eotrash.

I use both EoTechs (2) and Aimpoints (2). I don't see how you can say the EoTech reticle covers too much of the target when it has a 1MOA dot (compared to 2 or 4 for the Aimpoint). The 65MOA ring doesn't obscure the aiming point at all. While I don't use these optics for precision shooting (I have magnified scopes for that work), I find it quite a bit easier to use the EoTechs if I'm trying to "aim small."

I think both sights are great and I shoot well with them. Both have their pros/cons and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either one. Personally, I don't think you can make a bad choice between them.

Is my understanding correct that they're the same electronics as the M3, just not as ruggedly built?

Ruggedness is probably the same, but the difference is that the C3 is waterproof to 15' and has no night vision compatability while the M3 has some 90' or so of waterproofing and does have night vision capability.

Other than that, they are the same, so say the manufacturers.

The C3 is the optic that 95% of Aimpoint buyers *should* be buying.

I believe its a little less money because it dosent have a few of the special lens coatings that are required for the NV models as well.

Excellent optic for those of us that dont swim!

I assume that you meant to say: the C3 is waterproof to 15' and has no night vision compatibility.

Regarding the waterproofing of the C3, I've heard rumors that they are built along with the ML3 and are just not tested to the same waterproofing levels. It almost sounds like the C3 could actually be just as waterproof as the ML3 but is just not tested to same level so Aimpoint advertises it the conservative side.

I've also heard the same thing about the H1 compared to the T1.

    Has anyone else heard this?

Also, has anyone found the extra daylight settings of the non-NVG compatible Aimpoints to be any advantage?
