I don’t know if there is truth to this but I read on another forum that if you currently hold or have held any kind of clearances, it slows the process down.

I only know that my checks were cashed at the end of August 2018. Will update when I am approved and have cans in hand.

I’m not sure I would buy that a security clearance, be it current or expired would slow down the process. I submitted a form 1 with efile on the 29 Jan 2019 and received the stamp on 21 Feb 2019, and I’ve had a clearance for more then a decade now.

Not sure I buy it either. Something is obviously way different now with how form 1 and form 4s are being processed. The F1 is way quick. Form 4s seemed to have slowed down.

I've had a clearance for over a decade as well, and it didn't seem to slow my E-File Form 1 down either.
I filed on December 31st, during the showdown, and got my approval on February 8th. So a bit over a month even with the government shutdown as a factor.

    eFile form 1

I messed up on my fingerprints and put the city not county of birth (I was born outside the US) and as such the ATF was looking for a city that does not exist in the state in which I live. I called and found out my mistake and was approved the next day.

They didn't notify you and just sat on them until you called?

So that's two weeks start to finish for an eFile Form 1. Meanwhile, I have seven Form 4's still outstanding going back to the middle of last year.

The thread I read this in was referring to the F1 not the F4. Not sure why it would matter. Sorry for the thread clutter. Thought it was an odd nugget.
