Do you mind posting some specs of your rifle?

Specifically the Buffer Weight and ammunition you use?

I'm running a Carbine Buffer with Brown Bear (Practice Ammo) most of the time and was worried the shorter barrel, lighter buffer, and weaker ammo would conspire against me.

If anyone else has any input I'd appreciate it too.

DPMS lower, CMT upper, PRI Gasbuster charging handle, BCM bolt carrier, LMT enhanced bolt, CMT H buffer, LMT SOPMOD stock on LMT receiver extension, RRA stainless 1x8 middy turned to .700" between the chamber and gas block shortened to 14.5" w/shaved FSB and chambered reamed with 5.56mm NATO neck and throat reamer (was a .223 Wylde chamber), Daniel Defense 12" RIS II M4A1 rail, Aimpoint M4S in a Bobro mount, Troy flip up sights in FDE, Surefire X300 light, Magpul MOE grip and rail covers, Tangdown stubby grip w/ADM lever, Vickers 2pt sling from G&R Tactical w/sewn on QD loops with Daniel Defense mounts.

I shoot the rifle with a suppressor sometimes so I use a H buffer. The gas port was not enlarged after the shortening. If I didn't ever use this rifle with a suppressor I'd use a CAR buffer.

I shoot everything through it from Wolf 55gr to Black Hills 77gr MK262 Mod 1, it's works well with everything.

Beautiful set up, thats actually the final configuration I'd like for my rifle if I ever get the funds.

Thanks for the info, I'm thinking I shouldn't have any issues with chopping it down.

As for you reaming the chamber to 5.56 Nato, was it a result of popped primers or some other malfunction you were experiencing, or just a preventative measure?

It was reamed when the barrel was being used on my friends 3gun rifle. He had several problems with XM193 ammo so I reamed it which seamed to cure it. Later we replaced his this barrel with a 18" midlength White Oak and I this barrel and had it shortened.
