    Prvi Partizan Question

Picked up 1000 rounds today for $400. It came in 5 sealed battle packs labeled ".223 ammo M193 55gr FMJ Boxer N/J 200rds Prvi Partizan" The label indicates .223 but when I opened on the packs, the brass is all labeled 5.56.

I know Prvi makes good ammo, but I'm wondering what the N/C means? Is this good ammo, comparable to Federal "brown box" M193s?

I have ran almost 2500 round of that through both my N4 and RRA rifles and had NO problems what so ever. I have about 1200 rounds left.

I am fairly certain that the N/C refers to non-corrosive. Please provide some feedback on this particular Prvi Partizan. I have been skeptical about using PP after the issues that we had over here.

I went through 1000 rounds, most of which was in a class at CSAT, of 5.56x45 M193 without a hitch. Lot PPU 0808-05

I plan to buy a lot more the next time I can find it.

Thanks for the replies. Iraqgunz, I have no idea why "non-corrosive" slipped my mind, but I'll bet you're right. What kind of problems did you encounter with it in the sandbox?

I'll post a range report as soon as I get a chance to fire some of this ammo.

We had issues with popped primers and some failures to extract. We also had the same issues with Bulgarian arsenal manufactured SS109 as well. All of our carbines are Buhsmasters. I posted a fairly detailed write up of the issues and the testing that I did. The problems we had is what prompted me to get a chamber reamer from Ned Christiansen. It drastically reduced the issues, though we still had the occasionals.

iraqgunz, did you have problems with PPU m193 or their 62g stuff?

fwiw, i've never heard anything good about their 62g or anything bad about their m193

(my experience is several thousand rounds of the m193 with no ammo-related issues, and a couple hundred rounds of their 308 ammo that i was pretty disappointed in)

It was all with SS109 62gr. ammunition made in 2005. The Bulgarian stuff was made in 2008 and was considerably better. Part of the issue was the carbines as I used a Colt M4 upper as a control weapon and it fired over 1400 rds with only 6 malfunctions.
