Question Which DD rail for my 10.5" SBR

I have two rifles with the fantastic Daniel Defense 12.0 Lite rails, one is my Colt barreled 16" and the other is a Daniel Defense SPR Complete upper, and first I have to say DD makes a great product.

DD 12.0 Lite Rail on 16" Colt barrel

Daniel Defense Complete SPR 16" Upper with 12.0 Lite Rail

Yesterday I purchased an LMT 10.5" upper for my new SBR.

I am trying to find the longest rail possible (I will be milling off the front sight post, and using a flip up on the rail), that will still allow me to add a Noveske KX3 or a suppressor.

I am wondering if the Daniel Defense 10.0 Lite rail is too long for the 10.5" barrel. I couldn't even find the 10.0 Lite rail on DD's site

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cameron

Did you look at the Omega 7" rail?

I am after the longest possible rail and the 7" Omega rail is way too short.

I called DD and spoke with one of the guys,(great customer service BTW) and I am going with the 10" Lite rail.

The KX3 will be slightly covered by the end of the rail and I will have to use a strap wrench to tighten the flash hider as the rail will cover the flats.

I will order the rail and KX3 today.

That's what I originally told him when he emailed me, but he wanted a rail system that was black. We haven't anodized any MK18s in black so he opted for the 10.0. This is a great looking configuration. Recently build one for my buddy just like it.

    Joe,

Thanks for the information on the phone this morning, and your responsiveness here. Daniel Defense has one of the best reputations for great customer communication and service and I appreciate it, and spend my money accordingly. That is why all my rails and sling mounts are DD, and the reason I bought the DD SPR upper, so please pass on to the powers that be, that I am an extremely satisfied customer.

I will get the 10.0 Lite ordered, as the new SBR has been shipped already.

    Here is the finished product:
LMT 10.5" with Daniel Defense 10.0 Lite rail.

I am very happy with it.

Anyone running this rail on a 10.5 with an M4-2000. Is the mount exposed enough for proper attachment?

I don't think it will fit as the flats on the FH are partially covered by the rail.

Thanks, I couldn't tell from the angle of the pic. I knew it would be close.
