Thanks Chad..great info and I love how your gun is setup. Its the way I wanted my set up, but I have an N4 Light Basic Carbine and am stuck with the FSB for now. I'm debating getting a DD Omega 7 or chopping the FSB and getting a different rail.

Thanks Again and I will look at your website

Any insight on sling mounting points for rifles with A1/A2 stocks and standard handguards, or am I limited to the current mounting points at the bottom of the stock and end of the handguard?

Blue Force Gear has a sling adapter (maybe $13) which mounts the sling at the top, in position D, within inches of the end.

Daniel Defense has a receiver endplate mount called Burnsed which will put you at position C with an A1/A2 stock. I've read at calguns or somewhere that a car endplate can be filed to work as well, but if you go with DD, they include the proper length screw and new spacer. Avoids WECSOG for $35.

The more I think about it and mess around with exact positions of the sling clips, I'm thinking B-D is totally satisfactory on my CTR stock, and for no money I can strap up my A2 stock like the BFG adapter and go B-D there as well. I have a car endplate mount in the box, but don't feel like going through the work to break the staking, nor to file it to fit the A2 stock...so I'm cheap and lazy, if what I'm running works as-is.

If anyone has lots of experience to show B-C is hands-down better than B-D, I guess I'll try it. But in the meantime, I'm happy.

There are "strap" adapters available that will give you A/B and D. BFG has this sort of thing with the SOC-C system and the Vickers can be adapter to use that as well if you have the QR add-on or an original non padded Vickers.

Lots of companies sell replacement endplates that give you a C. (DD and GG&G come to mind. TD had one as well)

Try it for yourself -- Attach your sling at D, then practice doing a transition from your strong side to your support side. Now tell me how you feel about it as you choke yourself out! If I were going to run the sling point at D, I'd attach it on the strong side of the weapon. You'll still almost choke yourself out, but not as badly. Attaching at C is much more workable for transitions.

B - C. Or, more specifically, at the rear of the L-side rail & at the receiver end plate. This allows engaging from either side of a barricade or cover with minimal exposure of body parts. Transitioning to the 'off-side' is easily accomplished without choking yourself out. When necessary to transition to your sidearm, you can easily move the carbine to your L-side, rolling the carbine so the ejection port is inward next to your body, preventing your support hand from becoming trapped in close confines.

Wow, must be the only one here running an A to D two point sling. It probably does slow me down sometimes, but when you carry a rifle 12hrs/day, climbing, etc., cant stand dealing with single point slings.

How are transitions to pistol with the B/C or B/D sling setup?

I haven't done support side drills in a few years (shame on me), but I worked on that last night with my current sling set-up. I have a snap/release at the "D" position, so when I transition, I unclip (now I'm at single point in "B" position) and swing the stock over. Probably not as slick as single-point at "C", but works for me.

I do like the solid feel of B-D, having the stock pulled up to my chest when dropping the gun. ETA: transitions to pistol are cake.
