    Daniel Defense M4 (Omega-X rail) & Vltor VST-1C compatibility???

Can you guys tell me if the Vltor VST-1C folding front sight is compatible with your new Daniel Defense Omega-X rail that comes standard on the new M4 complete rifle? I think this set-up would be slick as hell if the Vltor sight will fit.

    Thanks in advance!

    Stay safe,
    Nick

Sorry dude. It won't work. The width of the sight is just to big to fit in the opening for the front sight base on the Omega X 12.0 FSP.

I had an issue with a friend who wanted to use the Vltor with the 12 FSP lite rail. Some judicious grinding on both got it to work but the QR sling socket is still too wide and cannot be used anyway...

I've done the same thing before. They just aren't compatible with each other. Would look really good though if it worked.

Maybe the new Vltor model will work.

On a side note, the new ARMS 41 folder works.

Thanks to all for the info.

I dont care for the ARMS due to it not folding flush with the top rail. Which "New" Vltor model are you talking about???

I'm actually really excited to see if the new slimmer Vltor VST - 1C will fit - I'm getting an Omega X, and it'd be nice to use the Vltor. The ARMS would work, but I really like the Vltor. Hopefully the new ones will hit the market soon and we'll find out.

How about with the RIS II FSP or Lite FSP?

A year later, what is the word on a "thinner" Voltor?
