    Toy MCG/Larue FUG/Tango Down BG?

I've read info on the Larue & TD, but can't find anything on the Troy MCG which seems to have the benefits of both the Larue & Tango Down...any experienced opinions?

I haven't used on on a rifle yet. The Troy is neat like the LaRue in that you can make it big or small by removing a portion of it. It also has a screw mount or a thumb nut mount (user/installer choice). It is made of aluminum.

No first hand experiance as of yet, but the Troy VFG will be going on my 556 SBR and my 556 once the Troy 556 Battle Rails are available. Best of both worlds IMO...

I like the thought of the VG being made of metal like the Troy, is there any advantage to the TD "synthetic" grip other than maybe a little lighter?

The TD one I felt seemed to wiggle on the rail and I just figured it was the material and that an aluminum one would be more rigid. Maybe the one I handled was not correctly attached.

I have seen them as they are tight no fully engaging the rail interface. Also If removed and installed alot TD offerrs a rebuild kit but I have never seen one that needs it and I have seen alot of them.

Just added a Troy vert grip to one of my carbines.

Running it in "stubby" mode. Well machined and nice, solid construction. I run a TD QD full size and a TD non-QD model on other rifles, don't have any complaints on any of them. The Troy dovetails together well and has ZERO play on the rail.

I didn't even try the thumbscrew mount, just used the flush mounting screw as I don't intend to move it.

Nice size and good positive grip with the knurling (if that matters to you). I'd buy another if I had a need.

Is the inner compartment water tight?

Does the squareness and its hard corners bother you at all?

    It looks perfect

Wow, I wonder where they got that design.
