I got mine in today too. I expected the serrations on the front and back to be sharper than they are. They otherwise, are pretty well what I expected, and seem durable, although I won't be able to put some rounds through them for a couple weeks.

Considering the price point, I'm with the rest of y'all in that these will probably be my only two, unless something changes.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the SCAR?

I've never had a problem feeding rounds from either side; can someone explain what all the fuss is about?

Without having put any rounds through them yet, I won't go so far as to say it'll make any difference, and I'm not gonna fuss. I mean the rifles gonna feed from either side of the mag not matter what the design.

I just wonder why the break with previous designs? I didn't think about applications with the SCAR though...

the thought behind it was that the high-visibility white follower with the 'hump' on the left side would provide an easier visual check of an empty mag (vs. a misfeed etc) when you look into the ejection port. otherwise the follower hump would be hidden by the feed lips if it were on the right side.

The MSAR XM30 also has the follower opposite of Pmag / USGI / Lancer. That might be the new trend.

The military version does not insert on Gen 3 POF lowers. The integrated trigger guard gets in the way. No issues with the commercial version. The military version does insert with no issues on a Magpul and LaRue lowers. Both mags drop free from Colt, Magpul, POF and LaRue lowers with no problem. The ARC mags also seat the easiest on a closed bolt even with 30 rounds loaded.

So far they appear to be an excellent mag.

It's not a mechanical issue. It's a consistency thing. It's not a huge deal, but it's nice to take a loaded mag with 28 rounds and chamber the top round. Then you can verify that the right side round was stripped off the top. I never used to care one way or another, but since I adopted the technique, I'm stuck on it.

    Ahh, I see.

As for the chamber check, I know what you mean about having to get used to feeling for something different. I guess the technique will still work, I'll just have to be sure and note if the top round started on the left or right, before chambering and feeling if it moved.

    Cool

I always feel the top round first, then insert the mag/chamber a round. I drop the mag and feel again for the round shift. What if you have to grab a loaded mag from another source? Can you bet on the rounds on it?

I don't know if you noticed my post above, but I couldn't insert a commercial ARC mag into Gen 2 POF lower. Does this mean that integrated trigger guards are different between Gen 2 and 3 POF lowers?
