    ***Range Update***

I ran the 3 ARC mags that I have at the range yesterday. They all ran 100%. They feel very solid, and stood up to being dropped multiple time on the ground with no visible damage.

The only "concern" I have with these mags now is loading them for use during extended range sessions such as 2+ day long carbine course. As I reported earlier, the LULA magazine loading device does not work well with the ARC magazines. It seems that there is not enough space forward of the projectile end of the loaded rounds for the LULA to allow the rounds to drop in freely while loading. The rounds need to be manually pushed in and seated into the ARC mags when using the LULA to load them.

Having the round feed from the opposite side wasnt an issue at all during administrative loading.

So to review, the only revision I would ask for is that they are made to be more LULA friendly in the future.

According to Hilton Yam on 10-8, it works perfectly. I need to order one to try out.

I made a range trip with my new pair of ARC mags. I brought 2 of my AR's and 3 types of ammo for the "test".

The 3 ammo types were: Prvi 75gr, Federal XM193, and Wolf 55gr HP

Each mag saw 50 rds of each ammo type.

Both mags experienced problems with the Wolf 55gr HP, there were 13 malfunctions where the round would impact above the chamber.

Second was the XM193, it ran 100%.

Next up was the Prvi 75gr, it ran 100%.

After running the other 2 ammo types 100%, I decided to try the Wolf again. I loaded both mags to 28rds, they then ran 100%. I loaded them a 2nd time and they ran 100% in my second AR.

Each mag ended up with a round count of 206 rds.

I'm guessing it was just a matter of "break-in", to cure the malfunctions. After examining the 2 mags they have impact marks from the bullet tips striking the front of the mag as they feed.

I'll be using these as my primary range and competition mags for awhile, to get the round counts up. The mags seem to be well made and durable. They fit my Eagle FB pouches well, I don't have any others to try. PMags remain my "go-to" mags for now, but I may stock up on more ARC's when new colors are released.

Tested the ARC mags today. Not much of a test. Fired 30 rounds through each. The first magazine malfunctioned each time it was fired. I stripped the rounds out and then reloaded them by hand and it worked fine. I used a lulu to load it so that may have caused a problem. I was not the one firing the rifle when it malfunctioned I was instructing someone else. The second mag worked fine. So not sure why the 1st mag did not work the first time. I let the student fire 5 rounds and each was a fail to feed. These maybe like Lancers where the Lulu gives it bad juju.

I will have to give mine a try with a loader. I have never used speedloaders so I can't comment on this issue.

It's funny that I loaded the Wolf the first time with a Maglula. I left it at home and all other rounds were loaded by hand and worked fine. I'll have to try it again next range trip. I haven't experienced this problem with any of my other PMags, Lancers, or GI's.

From a conversation I had yesterday, the follower is being redesigned to work better with the LULA. No issues have been reported with other loaders.
