    Thanks...I'd definitely do that. I have another friend on a local SRT team and he said he'll take it in to their armory to have it given a thorough once-over.

    Scotty is right on this one and if it can be disassembled that is a better method. We can practice mortering if need be without beating the weapon up.

    Time out guys.

    scottryan has pointed out the fact mortaring is an accepted method to getting your gun back into the fight.

    He also pointed out that if you don't need to do that there is a better method for your gun.
