Bingo! I had one on a DoubleStar - the rail covers are a DEAD ringer.

I am at a loss for words. That is indeed a CAA rail, I saw one last night while looking at some Troy and Surefire Rails.

They would be to expensive at 30 bucks but they are well over 100.

It's not just the Air Force. I have seen personnel from the Army and Navy as well walking around with tactical knee holsters. I have almost never seen a Marine do it. What it comes down to is poor leadership on behalf of the NCO's. When we trained with the Navy and saw personnel with knee holsters we used to present a siutation to them where they would need to transition from long gun to pistol. Of course, many couldn't do it without contorting their bodies and losing focus.

Then we would point out that they have their gear placed improperly and would show and explain why you should wear it differently. Then they would see the light. But, if no one knows better or takes the time to explain it, it will never get corrected.

I was at a gun shop near base the other day. The Security Forces Squadron commander was there and admitted he knew nothing about guns outside what he was issued...

Not to stray too far off topic, but the ABU camo pattern is more of a crime than the rails

    WTF were they thinking?

Dunno. All this different different camo seems silly to me.

You should have seen the original camo design they came up with...

    I'm glad I retired when I did.

Probably the same thing the Army was thinking when they switched to ACU's instead of just modifying the BDU's & DCU's by adding the pockets. All of that velcro sucks and the crotch will rip out in a heart beat.

And yes that rail or whatever it is is FUGLY.
