    KAC SR25 goodness. Thanks Santa.

This is what happens when you still believe in Santa (and still have some money sitting around)

On another board, someone mentioned that a SR25 was traded in by the local sheriff's department. It was their sniper weapon. The price was not to be believed but I called. Sweet Baby Jesus it sounded awesome. Some eyes on the ground confirmed it was in great shape and it is.

The rifle came with a Blackhawk drag bag and a sniper data book. The rifle was sighted in with Hornady TAP. The included scope is a Nightforce 3.5-15 x 56 in KAC rings. The optical clarity is superb. It has the NP1-RR reticle.

The rifle is in excellent shape. The two stage trigger is very crisp. The only additions I made were the Magpul MIAD, tiggerguard and PRS stock.

The front tube is the standard fiberglass unit. I found the standard folding front sight and when it comes in, I'll have a notch milled out of the tube for it to fold into. (I know KAC offers the tube with the notch but this is easier).

The SR25 RAS is nearly impossible to get but no matter. There is a very good chance that after SHOT I will have a VERY special rail that will work just fine. I'll add the TD bipod and that should do it.

20 rounds were fired in anger today at some metal poppers and the rifle was dead on at 200 yds. This pleased me greatly.

Oh, and I may have bought some really cheap uppers (or 200 or so)

Ok first off you lucky bastard good steal (I mean it literally) I know it is pretty damn hard to get that rifle. And second what the hell are you going to do with those uppers? What brand are they I will need one or two for a build I am in the process of.

[DEA] Reports said the CT man had 200 uppers in his garage... [/DEA]

    Seriously, very cool Christmas haul.

All you need now is a camera with a macro feature so you can focus up close!
(sorry, a little smart alecky since I didn't get any KAC goodies for Christmas )

Always good to figure out who is who across the boards
Life is too short to deal with Blonde women, or carbine barrels over 10.5 inches

I make a habit of doing that myself.

I wanted to make a huge wind chime out of the uppers. Seriously, I'm cataloging the haul. There's all sorts of goodies.

    Damn John,

I was wondering if you where buying that one when it got mentioned a few months ago.

FWIW I got two KAC SR25 RAS's from Bandit at Excalibre Arms -- I dont think KAC talks to him anymore,
but if I can locate a former buddy he has the second RAS and no gun to put it on...

Merry Christmas and one sweet system there, congrats.

If you have a few uppers left over after the wind chime, I'm in the market for my first build and would rather use the flattops. Let me know if you want to part with a couple or three!

Congrats again on that sweet looking system.

    Cohiba, you are killing me.

    First the HK416 and now a SR25.

I've been looking for a SR25 LW RAS Match rifle for over a year.

FYI - No luck with my HK416 upper search.

Thanks for the SR25 love everyone. Just to be crystal clear, the uppers are a very tricky deal that I have to sort out. If I was a betting man, I would say that they would only be sold locally in CT for reasons I can't spell out yet. If the situation changes, I'll let everyone know. Besides, I could only use 100 or so myself.
