What is ATF using right now?
I don't think any manufacturer uses a tritium two dot sight configuration. You do get a speed advantage under stress with dot-over-dot config though.

The agents I've seen around here were all carrying Glocks. DEA switched to Glocks several years ago I think
I believe Warren sights are dot over dot.

ATF fields the p229 in .40 cal. They have been extensively evaulating glocks during the past year and intoducing them to line agents during their quarterly qualifications. Many of the FI (firearms instructors) have been carrying glock for quite some time. Adoption of the glock platform would put ATF in line with DEA and the FBI, their brother DoJ agencies.
As and aside, does heine even make the straight 8 for an M & P?

No disrespect or off trackedness at all intended- I only asked the question re heine making the straight 8 for the S & W as it occured to me that if they did not, or if it was not widely available, then such a result would steer the choice to glock.
Kind of like when FBI wrote a request for bid re a .45 mag that clearly steered toward the Wilson 47D some years back. Perhaps I was being too subtle for my own good.
