    Question wtrbrdng

    curious.

anyone offer this as part of a professional training service?

chalk it up to morbid fascination (no, i'm not into bondage ) ... want to see what's it's like firsthand with all the yammering in the press.

there was a reporter from vanity fair who tried it out (it's on youtube). looks scary.

mods, if this is out of line, please delete.

Funny thing is, I've actually gotten together with a few friends and did it once. It wasn't even close to a real waterboarding atmosphere, and it was pretty bad even knowing its your friends doing it. You honestly are drowning, there's no faking about it. I wouldn't call it "torture" by a stretch, considering I was willing to do it, that should tell you something.

I said the exact same thing to my wife at lunch today. I think it would be neat to look some liberal ****tard in the eye and say, "What's so bad about it? I've done it. No big deal."

Then do what I did. Get about 3 or 4 friends together, have them strap you to a bench, and re-enact the Christopher Hitchens video. Great fun to be had.

interesting. well, i am relieved i'm not the only one thinking along the same lines.

but something in the back of my head is saying that simulated drowning is not going to be a piece of cake.

i'm actually serious about this ... there has to be somebody that does it (i guess i'll ask that vanity fair reporter where he did his).

anyhoo, a waterboarding demo would be quite an interesting and possibly welcome sidebar to a carbine or pistol class held on a hot july day.

If it was a piece of cake, folks wouldn't be debating whether it's torture.
