Does it allow you to get higher up on the grip than a standard A2 grip? I'm thinking that I need to try one as I wear XL gloves and Colt A2 grips are what I usually go for, as they're beefier.

That's kind of the opposite of what it's designed to do, which is lower the hand to put it more in line with the trigger. One of these days I'll pick one up just to compare side by side to my MIAD.

I like the Stark grip as well, ugliness is not a concern of mine. The grip swell makes a big difference to me, and reminds me of the HK 416 grip. At work I have to carry my carbine for hours at a time at a relaxed low ready position. All the other grips I have tried can result in grip fatigue.

The real test of any grip is shooting it, not carrying it. For me, then angle and relationship to the trigger is just about perfect for my long fingers.

If I had any complaint, it would be the use of a screw to secure the trigger guard, and that the grip could be shortened a bit, more like the HK grip. I don't have a need for the flare at the bottom, but it may be well suited for SPR style rifles.

Ignoring the funking design, this is one very nice grip IMHO...
How is it for single handed manipulations? It does look like you could get more leverage on the gun when shouldering with one hand.

We have been using a few of them since I saw then at the Shot Show. Got one to try out first, then 4 more shortly after that. Those that have them, won't give them up.

I agree with those who think this is a strange/ugly/alien looking grip, but aside from that, it is the most ergonomic/comfortable grip I have ever tried out for the AR platform.

IMO, the Stark grip puts my finger in better relation to the trigger than any other grip that I have run in the past.

Even with the large backstrap on my MIADs, I have to curl my finger more than feels comfortable to get proper finger placement on the trigger. The Stark grip eliminates this for me.

I also feel more "locked-in" when shooting with the Strak grip than any other in the past, as I feel I dont have to re-adjust my grip to keep the web of my firing hand high up into the beavertail and still maintain proper trigger finger placement.

I honestly feel you will be doing yourself a disservice if you overlook the Stark SE-1 grip based on looks alone.
    Same question as above.

    Thanks.

I have one and I love it. My friends have been impressed by it too. Hey, it's a grip, to each their own.
ETA: I also have a Magpul MIAD on my other AR and like them both. The plug in the Stark is so tight, that when I put two 123 batteries in it it is nearly impossible to remove. It will not fall out.

Not sure about the single handed manipulations as I usually use both hands when shooting the AR.

So far, I love the Stark grip. Before I tried the stock A2 grip, and an Ergo. Both had my hand way too high as I'm used to shooting pistols and naturally wanted the tang burried in the web of my thumb. Doing this really put my trigger finger at an odd angle, and the reach was way too short. The Stark fixes all of that. I now can burry the grip in my hand, and have a straight angle to the trigger to rest the first pad of my trigger finger where it needs to be. Still nice and easy to reach the safety, mag release, and EBR.

I'll echo whats been said already, you'll be doing your self a disservice if you let looks keep you from at least giving the Stark a try. This grip is that good.

I really like this design as well... this plus an ACS or EMOD is a rifle damn near ergonomically perfect, at least for me.

ETA: My only caveat is that this grip seems basically tailored to offhand shooting. The steeper angle helps you grip more naturally when you've got your arms tight to your body and you're leaning into the rifle a bit. That steeper angle makes shooting prone a little less natural for me. Overall, though, it's a good trade-off, I think.
