To be fair...That may make it even easier to "find".

You probably have a few neighbors with a stockpile of the good stuff.

    1. Who would the manufacturer of your gun of choice be?

LMT because it has proven its reliability to me.

    2. What model would it be?

CQB MRP Piston 16 because it has proven its reliability to me.

    3. What ammo. would you take?(if you had a choice)

As much as I could carry. XM193, Black hills, my handloads.

    4. Which mags would you choose?(can't take it all)

10x USGI modified w/enhanced followers and Magpul Ranger floorplates.

    5. What spare parts do you take?(Be reasonable)

firing pin, springs, retaining pins and other small parts.

This gun has a two-point VCAS sling, IOR 1,5-8x24x scope w/CQB illuminated reticule and BUIS. It is my SHTF weapon.

I will also be carrying a Les Baer SRP w/two spare mags and Winchester Ranger SXT 230g ammo.

While I'm at it I might as well carry my GAP Crusader and some 155g Lapua Scenar ammo. You never know when a sniper might come in handy.

    Most likely, This!

The wife and youngest daughter would have their XM-177 clones and the son would have his short gas Inch Para....

Good mix of 7.62 and 5.56 so we can use whatever we find most of the time.

If I had to set out on foot I'd go with a Marlin 1894c in .357 with a couple hundred rounds of various ammo. Blending in somewhat would be the name of the game. I just don't see any way one or two people, maybe with kids, are getting through cities with tactical rifles flashing around and chest rigs stuffed with mags in a SHTF scenario. Someone is simply going to pop you and take your gear. And you're going to need to CARRY plenty of supplies, I'm leaving the battle rifles or lugging 10+ mags off the list. The little Marlin can take care of a little trouble and bring in some game. My chances are poor carrying anything if I'm in shootouts with teams of locals or others doing the same thing I'm doing.

Heavy and unwieldy in some situations but for most things it would be just fine.
Lots of thump both ballisticly and when used in club/butt stroke fashion.
    Plenty accurate.
    Reliable.
    This is a brilliant idea.

Around here, everyone has something chambered in 30-06.

    glock 17.

i can't see being able to walk around the semi-urban and urban areas with a rifle slung over over your shoulder without getting yourself shot/having the gun stolen (after being confronted by a local gang armed with many rifles)/etc.

i would want to be able to be as invisible as possible. so, i want something i can conceal. something that needs very little maintenance. something that is ultra-reliable. something chambered in a very common round. so, glock 17 it is for me.

of course, if i can have 2 guns, then i would also want a colt 6920...which would stay out of sight when moving through populated areas.
