This is the first handgun I ever purchased. HK USP .40 Compact. I bought it two days after turning 21....a little over 12 years ago now. Bought the HK light shortly thereafter. This was my only pistol and carry gun for the better part of 10 years. Never seen a single malfunction out of it.

8&3/8ths" 44 magnum (29-2) . I was shooting ground squirrels up on the Pahsimeroi Valley, where Elmer Keith used to hunt.
The trick with shooting ground squirrels is to let them get behind their mounds, shoot low and launch them a looong ways into the air. The higher the launch the better! Keeps them intact too!
Headshot on the bunny. This is what happens when you forget to take out the hot 185 grain JHP 44 magnums and replace with moderate cast 240 grain SWCs normally used.

1930s Colt Official Police, stamped JPD on the bottom of the gun:
The right side checkered grip has been worn smooth. Presumably from carrying in a flap holster.
